Hi, I am a neurobiologist, and during my PhD I researched the motor control of asynchronous flight muscles, which are used by nearly three quarters of all animal species. Together with my colleagues, we were able to uncover that a desynchronized motor pattern not only stabilizes insect flight, but also reveals a novel mechanism for gap junctions to desynchronize neural activity.
I am currently a postdoc in the Computational Neurophysiology Lab of Prof. Dr. Susanne Schreiber at Humboldt University of Berlin. My current project focuses on identifying the principles that govern the localization and associated morphology of neuronal mitochondria. If you are interested to get in touch you are welcome to contact me right here or find me on ResearchGate.
